TCG Welcomes New Partner Dean Gray, January 1, 2018

TCG, an international life sciences consulting firm, is pleased to welcome Dean Gray as its newest partner. Dean is a global business executive with over 25 years of leadership in turning innovation into value for life science companies in the U.S, Europe, and Asia.  He has held general management, sales and marketing, strategic planning, product and business development, and other operational roles with large medical device, pharmaceutical and biotech companies as well as venture capital backed start-ups and emerging medtech companies. Bringing both strategic and entrepreneurial perspectives, Dean has successfully introduced innovative medical device, imaging, biomarker, drug/device and bio-informatic products. He has designed and led high-performing businesses across a wide range of diagnostic and therapeutic applications in numerous disease areas.

Prior to joining TCG, Dean was a principal at Appareo LLC, a life science consulting firm specializing in market analysis and go-to-market strategy development. Previously he held senior roles with Heidelberg Engineering, an ophthalmic imaging company, where he led development and commercial efforts for a novel retinal optical coherence tomography biomarker in multiple sclerosis, Alzheimer’s disease, Parkinson’s disease, traumatic brain injury, and other neurodegenerative diseases. From 2001 to 2003 Dean was Vice President, Global Marketing, Biosurgery at Sanofi Genzyme, responsible for Synvisc and Carticel regenerative medicine products. While at Boston Scientific Corporation from 1996 to 2001 he held several senior roles including Vice President, Strategic Planning, Microvasive Urology and Vice President, International Marketing for the Non-Vascular Group. Dean served as Business Director/General Manager for Surgical Skin Preparation, and Director, International Marketing, AcuteCare Division at Becton Dickinson (BD) from 1991 to 1996.  Earlier, Dean was Regional Business Manager-Asia for pharmaceutical subsidiary planning and operations at Pfizer (formerly Lederle), and Director, International Sales and Marketing at Bios, Inc., a nuclear cardiology start-up.

Dean’s business activities span all major global healthcare markets. He provides a global perspective with expatriate experience and foreign language skills. Dean received his B.A. from Earlham College and M.A. in International Business from Columbia University.
