Charlie has over 25 years of experience in business development, licensing, M&A, and strategic / financial management with large and small pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies. His transactional experience includes product acquisitions and divestitures, product development collaborations, supply agreements, commercialization agreements, in-licensing, out-licensing, and M&A. Over his career, he has played key roles in over 35 biopharmaceutical transactions, with a cumulative value of $3 billion.

Before joining TCG in 2014, Charlie was an independent life sciences management consultant (Tri-Bio Ventures LLC) for five years. Previously, he held senior business development and licensing positions for 13 combined years with POZEN, A.M. Pappas & Associates, Novartis Consumer Health, and Glaxo Wellcome. Before beginning his business development career at Glaxo Wellcome, he worked for seven years in senior corporate finance roles at Lilly and Glaxo, and practiced public accounting for two years with Ernst & Young.

Charlie is a member of the Licensing Executives Society (LES), Council for Entrepreneurial Development, American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, and the North Carolina Association of CPAs.

Charlie has a BS degree in Accounting from Brigham Young University, and an MBA from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He is a licensed CPA and has earned the CGMA and Certified Licensing Professional (CLP) designations.
