Biography
Kathy has 25 years’ experience as a scientist and business executive in the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industry. As a TCG Partner, Kathy provides European and US pharma, biotech and medtech company clients with market research, business strategy development, introductions to corporate partners and licensors, funding advisory services, scouting, due diligence, and launch planning to expand their businesses in the US market through corporate partnerships, licensing agreements and US subsidiary establishment. Kathy has developed broad therapeutic knowledge working with both small and large pharma, biotech and medtech companies at the early discovery, middle, and late commercial stages of the product development cycle.

Prior to her partnership with TCG, Kathy was President of Sequoia Research, serving more than a dozen life science company clients with international business development, strategy development, corporate partnering, project management, and marketing. As Director of Science & Technology Evaluation at Calvert Research, Kathy scouted for and evaluated early stage pharmaceutical assets for investment and acquisition. Kathy was also Manager of Business Development for a contract laboratory specializing in formulation development and has served as Portfolio Manager for a start-up biotechnology company. Over a ten year career at GSK, Kathy worked as a scientist in both the Inhalation Product Development group and in the Pharmaceutics division, then served in the Project Management group working with the Advair® Diskus commercial launch team and coordinating US and European respiratory medicine teams to achieve on-time regulatory submission filings. Prior to her work at GSK, Kathy worked in Pharmaceutical Research and Development at Genentech in California.

Kathy was elected Chair of the RTP Chapter of the Licensing Executives Society in 2014 and continues as Outgoing Chair during 2015. She was an invited mentor and judge for the Southeast BIO competition, was co-founder of RTP Advisory Board of the Healthcare Businesswomen’s Association (HBA), and has served as a mentor in the HBA since 2010. Kathy earned her B.A. in Biology at the University of California at Santa Cruz with coursework focus to support a career in biotechnology. Throughout her career she has expanded her education with professional courses that include Marketing, Commercialization, Negotiation, Project Management and Finance.
